Jessica Biel joins Psycho movie

Jessica Biel has joined Scarlett Johansson in a new movie about the making of Psycho.

The Valentine's Day star apparently beat several actresses to land the role of Vera Miles, who played Lila Crane in the original film, reports Deadline.

Jessica, 30, will be the second female lead in Alfred Hitchcock And The Making Of Psycho, while Scarlett will take on the main female role by playing actress Janet Leigh.

Anthony Hopkins and Helen Mirren will play Hitchcock and his wife and James D'Arcy is in the frame to portray Anthony Perkins.

The film within a film is based on a book by John McLaughlin, Tom Thayer and Stephen Rebello and follows Hitchcock's attempts to make the 1960 horror flick.

The filmmaker struggled to get the project off the ground because studios didn't want to be involved, so he had to look for financing himself. However, the movie went on to be one of his biggest hits and became known for its iconic shower scene.

The film will be directed by Sacha Gervasi and is set to start shooting next month.
