Jessica Biel talks Barbie sex and fighting with Kate Beckinsale

Jessica Biel opened up about some of the quirkier aspects of her childhood in a new interview and what is was like filming fight scenes with Kate Beckinsale.

Biel said that although she was raised to be a little tough as a kid, she did play with barbies -- though not in a conventional way.

"I did [play with Barbies], but it was always, 'Let's play sex with Barbies!' My Barbies were usually naked," she told W magazine for its April issue. "Once, I took their heads off, cut their hair, drew on their short, spiky hair with some markers, then stuck the heads on Christmas lights."

"Every year, we'd string our tree with those Barbie heads. It looked demonic. My parents were so coolthey saw it as a form of self-expression," she added.

The 30-year-old actress, who appear! s on the cover of the magazine, also talked about filming the new reboot of "Total Recall." In the film, Biel plays a prostitute/freedom fighter named Melina who teams up with Doug Quaid, played by Colin Farrell, to change the political system in country set in a fascist future.

The original science fiction movie was released in 1990 and starred Schwarzenegger as Quaid. Sharon Stone played Lori, Quaid's wife, in the original film and Kate Beckinsale will play her role in the new version.

Bryan Cranston is set to play the villain in the film, which ditches the Martian storyline of the original and instead involves nation states Euromerica and New Shanghai. Doug Quaid is a factory worker in the latter who begins to believe he is a spy, although he doesn't know for which side he is supposed to be on.

Biel revealed that she has to fight Beckinsale in the movie but filming it was slightly awkward for the two stars.

"Our fight scene isn't overtly sexy: just two trained fighters who happen to be women kicking the [expletive] out of each other. It could be two dudes, but we just happened to have long hair and boobs and ... other things ," she said. "Kate and I usually fight men in movies, and when you knock into a man, he doesn't care," she added. "But every two seconds, Kate and I were saying, 'I'm so sorry -- are you okay?' We were both so nervous about fighting another woman. Which is strange, because I have no problem fighting with a guy. In truth, I like doing anything that requires breaking a sweat." The film is set to be released on August 3 and also stars John Cho and Ethan Hawke. Biel didn't talk about her possible engagement to singer Justin Timberlake. However, his former 'N Sync bandmate, Joey Fatone, gave advice to the two stars earlier this month.

The! actress was also seen recently on March 9 with a diamond ring on her ring finger, according to People magazine.
