Jessica Biel Won't Be In 'The Wolverine' After All

Jessica Biel

Looks like Jessica Biel won't be making hers Marvel after all.

The actress was previously up for the role of Viper in "The Wolverine," Fox's upcoming pseudo-sequel to Hugh Jackman's "X-Men Origins" film from 2009. But now Collider reports that Biel has turned down the offer to star in the Japan-set action flick, despite all signs previously pointing to her enlistment.

That leaves the door wide open for a brand new actress to join the fray as Viper. Now that we know the type of star producers have in mind aka, kick-ass and beautiful, and a well-known name to boot who would you recommend to sign on as Viper in Biel's place?

Here's an easy suggestion: Kate Beckinsale. The two almost played each other's roles in the forthcoming "Total Recall," so they're already used to the ol' switcheroo. But Beckinsale has a lot of the qualities that Biel brings to the table as well: gorgeous, fierce, name value. She could pose a great, formidable threat to Jackman's adamantium-laced antihero, no question about it.

For now, the door is wide open for another actor to take Biel's place. Stay tuned for casting announcements as they come in. "The Wolverine" hits theaters in July 2013.
